Poem: You Are Cruel

You Are Cruel by Brin Raizulli Isaac

You are as wild as the stormy sea,
heartbreaking like a child’s cry of loss,
broken like a shattered vase,
and numb like the dry wooden floor.

You are ugly inside.
Insolent like a bad-tempered athlete,
sick like an old gossiper,
and vile like an oppressor of your beaten-up motherland.
